He became known by his willingness to say what's on his mind. A fearless showman from the beginning, he has never shied from the spotlight. His endless run of bad luck in life caused his curiosity in music to stir smudging genre lines and testing his originality every time he performs. This underground artist kept his drive throughout his lack of income, racial stereotypes and unorthodox family life. He was aggressive growing up in spite of his small stature and high-pitched voice. At grade school age; Tony would walk the neighborhood with his boom box blasting mixtapes he meticulously made. He used his humor as an outlet to override his brooding demeanor. Quick wit became a staple in his day to day life. Getting picked on daily by the majority of kids in school forced him to choose his words carefully.
As a DJ he gained popularity playing extremely versatile music to the various crowds that came out to party. This became a career over the years. The ability to read crowds kept his pockets from collecting lint and kept bar owners calling him back. Switch’s articulation on all of his work stunted his promotional growth. As a result, he fine tuned his strengths and conquered his weaknesses. He has been working as a DJ & Emcee for Elegant Entertainment on Long Island since the early 2000's. A company started by a hardworking fellow DJ and friend Tom Fabb. After Tommy left NY, Tony kept the company going and continues to do parties all over New York,New Jersey & Connecticut.
As a teenager he was ridiculed and commended simultaneously for his involvement in Hip-Hop culture. There was no choice to Switch, he was drawn to the music and the style. He started playing keyboard by ear around 6 years old. By the time he was 14 he had built a small studio in his basement out of low budget equipment. The driving sounds of Hip-Hop music and stories of the underdog coming up was the perfect outlet for his troubled upbringing and a way to fight back with words.
Switch's music is a reflection of his life and thoughts.
